In 1979, Joe Armistead Sr started Transmission Parts Unlimited in the back of a pickup truck. He began his American Dream selling transmission cores out of his truck. It did not take long until he was in a building competing with other transmission parts suppliers. Joe had an advantage of being a people person and recognizing people and developing relationships. Those relations built his empire.
Today, Transmission Parts Unlimited, better known as TPU, is one of the top suppliers of automatic transmission parts. We have over 2000 accounts and thousands of walk-in customers. We welcome walk-in as well as established transmission shops.
